Capacity Building Farm Mechinary Training Bio pesticide Preparation Officers Training Vocational Training Awareness Program
Computer Training -Rotary sponsored "Project Selvi" Basic Computer Application Course was conducted for rural poor girls. 28 girls attended the course of 6 months duration in 2 batches.
This program commenced with Trainers' Training. The
course covered subjects like DTP, MS Office, Excel, printing and internet operation. Complete
expenditure was sponsored by Rotary Club of Temple City under aegis of "Project Selvi" .
Training to Staff of Other NGO
Based on the request from Chinmaya Organisation for Rural Development (CORD), a training
program on 'Integrated Rural Development initiatives' was conducted for two days and 10
officials from CORD NGO participated.
Primary Agriculture Co-op Bank (PACB) Employees Training
Preallocate in the villages is the first link between the farmers and the Government and works
for agriculture development. Keeping importance of the requirement in view, Registrar of Cooperatives,
Government of Tamil Nadu had sanctioned this training program for their
employees to be conducted by National Agro Foundation during this year.
An Interactive residential training module was specially designed for the participants. Training
sessions, both in classroom and in field, included: An Overview of Indian Agriculture, Joint
Liability Group and Agri Clinic, Soil Fertility and Importance of Soil Testing, Farmers Club and
Kissan Credit Card, Orchard Establishment and its Management, various bankable ventures
related to Agriculture etc.
There was overwhelming response from the participants who were drawn from nine districts of
Tamil Nadu. 93 participants attended this training program conducted in three batches. They
unanimously gave the feedback that this program was very useful for them.
Awareness Program - Cultivation of Green Manure
Two awareness program on cultivation of green manures were organized in Patwari Nagar
and Murukancherry villages of Maduranthagam block. 30 farmers participated in the
program.
Field exposure visits:
10 lead farmers of NAF - HiH project area visited the Demonstration farms set up in our adopted
cluster under Direct seeding and SRI cultivation on paddy as exposure visit. They were convinced
about the technology and are likely to adopt the same during ensuing season.
Course on Ornamental Fish Culture
NABARD sponsored Training Program for 5 days on Ornamental Fish Culture was conducted at
NAF and 20 partici pants attended the program. This program was addressed by various experts
and guest speakers which was well received by the participants.
Tailoring Training
NABARD sponsored Tailoring Training was conducted for 20 participants for two weeks
duration. Maximum participants are being employed by Mis. Divya Garments at Chunampet
and few are opting for self employment.
NABARD CAT Training Program
3 Courses on Capacity Building for Adoption of Technolog (CAT) Training for Lead Farmers of
Tamil Nadu sponsored by NABARDwere held atCFRD, JIledu. Each program was scheduled for
three days duration and 60 Lead Farmers from 12 Districts attended the program. Feedback from
the farmers are quite encouraging.
Para-Medical Training
Three ladies from chunampet cluster villages attended a three months Para-medical Training at
Voluntary Health Services (VHS) at Chennai and completed successfully. These ladies will look
after the Primary Health Needs of their villages. This training program was facilitated by NAF
and sponsored by the Rotary Club of Madras Temple City.
WDF- Arasur Water Shed
40 people were taken on a Training Program on Water Shed Project Planning and Management II
(PPMI)Training at BhumiTrust Vellore District.
ArasurWDF
Two day Training Program was done at NABARD Watershed implanted by TVS Trust at Hosur.
Totally 40 people from all the Water Shed villages participated and gained experience in
livelihood support activities.
WDF- SirukaIathurWater Shed
48 people were taken for one day WaterShed exposure visit to Bhumi Trust, Vellore District.
